My in-person gaming group actually met in person for a D&D one-shot in which I generated a character who is a whole-ass seventh level single-class character (I never do this, because D&D drives me bonkers with the constraints of its class system). I mean, they're an arcane trickster, so rogue with minor magic, but...

I built Izar on Heroforge, so that's what they look like.

Izar is a retired adventurer who basically went "screw this, I'm quitting to become an accountant" and then wound up investigating these horrible murders in the town where they settled and, well, the "I speak six languages and can therefore read your notes, and talk to this person who doesn't have the local language, just the trade pidgin" thing went well for a bit, but then the monsters attacked and 'I will one-shot the monster that other party members need to hit several times to take down' became the order of the day. Because when the sneak attack works, it works Thoroughly.

(Best dramatic moment for me: paladin retreating down the hallway attacked by demonic-looking batlike things, winds up next to the door in the room where Izar is; Izar steps around the bear that was the third party member and just amiably stabs over the paladin's shoulder to one-shot one of the little nasties. Given they did not appear to have a sword when they went in there this was maybe a little surprising.)

And of course this being D&D we did not have to worry about the whole question of "how to get a cave bear out of a small second-story room" because the space is arbitrarily defined as allowing him to leave, unlike when Danny was stuck in a third-floor apartment because he accidentally an entire bear. ;)

(Catboy bard is actually being reasonably chill at the moment, hence the lack of rambly posts about him, but but is he having a week.)

But on that note, loose ends (updating from here):

- spider moon party (postponed until next game year)
- the SCADs have not been a problem on camera since early on
- the 'Is Tanis pissed that we removed the spooky he wanted to pillage from the Underground?' question may wind up relevant soon, given the plot hook for the next arc
- Isobel owes Yaga a favor
- Someone is going to want to do a Hunt sometime and ask us for the Horn
- "The nearest steamer trunk to Thomas has a huge padlock on it, and is labeled, "Silas H Beavin, Dept of Natural History, University of Washington"." (we never opened it)
- Mister Fitch needs to come up (MG knows who that is)
- letters back from the aunties and Stewart actually
- Danny has things in the back of his head to talk to Ezra about, because that is a perpetual thing; they include moral injury (which he has at least mentioned to Ezra), some things about love, and some things about Ezra's significance to him (gardening metaphor); the latter two of which will probably come up when they take a long weekend. I think that's all the big ones at the moment, amazingly enough; he's a lot calmer now.

I think that's everything? I went through [personal profile] jenett's carefully curated index and didn't see anything in the summaries that reminded me of loose ends at least.

ETA:
- Shatterlings, repair thereof (added because it's not an immediately resolvy thing in case next time I do one of these we haven't made progress)

In non-gaming news I disapprove of conjunctivitis.

I also disapprove of conjunctivitis, but I think I heartily approve of Izar.

Izar is delightful.

and yes, I think that's the list of outstanding stuff (though theoretically two things from Isobel's background, this ongoing question of why people are happy to have them, and ordinary things like "Thanksgiving")
