Happy birthday to me!

Books, books, books.

A week and a half ago or so, I got told I had some stray money available to spend on books. So I went through the online used bookstores and ordered a bunch.

Five of them arrived today.

• A Practical Introduction to Phonetics, by J. C. Catford
  
• Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Howard Gardner
  
• Crafting the Body Divine: Ritual, Movement, and Body Art, Yasmine Galenorn
  
• Words and Rules, Steven Pinker
  
• The Myth of Monogamy: Fidelity and Infidelity in Animals and People, David P. Barash, PhD., and Judith Eve Lipton, MD
  

Books, books, books. And I'm only reading one at the moment (The Book of J), because I finished Cherryh's Explorer last night.

Huh. You share a birthday with an old boyfriend of mine. Which reminds me I need to email him soon and wish him a happy birthday, at which point he'll probably twitch and say, "Oh, right. Are you . . . four days older than me . . . or . . . four days younger? I forget. . . ."
