Not cutting this dreamlog because it also serves as a perfectly sound status update:

I dreamed that world events were giving me terrible insomnia. I know this is a dream, and not reality, because when I sat up to get myself a drink I suddenly realized that the events I was dreaming about ruminating helplessly over were fictional ones, not included in the usual run of "actually, current events are breaking my suspension of disbelief".

Unfortunately I do not remember the state of politics in the alternate universe.
