I do not know where we got the levitating guppies. I do know that the levitating guppies provided certain logistical problems, to wit:

* While they reliably occupied their tank and the space six to eight inches around the top of the tank, if it was a standard partially closed tank lid, sometimes the guppies could not figure out how to get back in the water when they needed to breathe, and we had to shoo them back into the water.

* Guppies breed like guppies. There was a plan in place for this, including a separate tank for the culls and so on, but the process involved things like, rather than scooping out the transfer fish into a cup and carrying them to their place, KJ carrying a cup of water as a lure down a hallway while I tried to herd them like the world's most ineffectual sheepdog.

* Flying guppy babies get lost very easily.

* There were some pretty part-black ones, though.

I honestly don't remember the setup for this and it had less coherence than the one about the guppies but:

* there was an anti-fascist book that was being published fast and with not that many copies because of fear of a crackdown, and I was involved with that

* there was a neighbor who needed assistance recloseting himself because, y'know, fascism

* also for someone reason there was a patch of culinary onions that had gone wild and I dug up a fraction of the onions to thin them and grow my own onion patch because apparently under fascism there is great concern about onion shortages? It was very urgent.

Aren't onions about it for early Egyptian food? Or is that Summer, where you subsist on beer and onions?

Sorry you're getting fascist dreams.

There's a wonderful scene in the Cartoon History of the World of people getting into the Nile Valley and a packed selection of diverse wildlife looking Very Nervous.

Although my favour misc. for the Nile Valley is the backfilled canyon, which is the wrong time scale entirely.
