I replaced the string on my religious confusion. This was somewhat more complicated than one might expect.

Y'see, the original string was one of those satiny string things, and those start to fray after a while. This one had accomplished the aforementioned 'after a while', perhaps with the assistance of the other stuff I have hanging off it.

So I needed to replace it before it fell apart entirely. This is made more complicated by the fact that the center piece (the pentacle) is held in place by a bead that gets strung on, and I sorta wanted to keep that, and the prospect of trying to wedge two bits of satin string through a bead tight enough to hold tightly to two bits of satin string was just tricky.

I actually did it though, and it didn't take as much effort as I thought it would at all; I strung one side through, dampened the other, and used various bits of friction to get it through without fraying.

Now I'm just being distracted by the fact that this string is much more purple! than the old one, which didn't show up in the photo so well. It's very purple! and as someone who can be distracted by the colour of her hair, this is a bit unnerving. I can't remember if the old string was purple! when it was new, as opposed to the somewhat faded purple without boldface or exclamation point that it is now. I don't think it was.

Anyway. The word "purple", whether in boldface and punctuated or no, no longer seems to hold any meaning for me. . .
