living in Maryland, we'd come up to visit kin in Massachusetts once or twice a year. And every time we came up, I'd beg and plead, "Can we go to the New England Mobile Book Fair?" (Actually, I probably said "That Bookstore", but still.)

Today, [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses and I went to the NEMBF.

I was . . . moderately virtuous. I only got books in the remnants section. And I got Hogswatch gifts for [livejournal.com profile] erispope, [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut, [livejournal.com profile] suzimoses, Kevin, and my father. Fear and anticipate! Squid, marvel at the idea of a non-perishable gift! ;) And the thing I got for [livejournal.com profile] erispope I got two of, because I want one too damnit, it just looked that cool. Well, uh, and there was more than one copy of it.

Kevin, love, Brooks asks that you please be sure to bring the spare suitcase back with you, he's rather feeling like he needs it.

Now I'm waiting for food to become food. I'm making roast beef and potatoes. Unfortunately, it started smelling like food something like ten minutes after I put it in the oven, which is some minor species of complete torment. Waaaaaah. Though soon we will go Deal With The Potatoes, and maybe that will help defer my urge to just eat the roast as-is.

[livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses is hungry. Not only is the smell of roast beast permeating the house, but he's reading a cookbook.

Totally off-topic, but I'm leaving this everywhere I can in hopes that you'll see it: Yes, I would love a ride from the airport tomorrow. Please call me (I sent the number and all my flight info to you and [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses at the addresses you put in your LJ userinfo, and the flight information is also in my calendar) and let me know whether you can pick me up. If I don't answer, I'm on the plane already; leave me voicemail and I'll get it when I get to Boston. Thank you!

NEMBF question.....

i clicked on the "hours" info.

if it's open from midnight to midnight both friday and saturday... then that means it doesn't close on those days. right?

or was that a typo and it's really supposed to say "noon to midnight"?

"n"
is for "thinks it'd be great fun to go book shopping at 2 a.m."

Re: NEMBF question.....

Great fun, but also really dangerous to one's finances.

Unfortunately, the reality according to the door sign seemed much more mundane -- the latest they're open is 9pm, and they open at 9am most days.

Fear and anticipate!

I do, I really do.

Squid, marvel at the idea of a non-perishable gift! ;)

I still wear my New-Age Woo-Woo Flake Anti-Ladybug Charm, you know. It hasn't gone bad yet. ;)

Rarr. There's something I want to get you. But I don't know quite what it is, or if it exists to be given, and if it does I can't find it because I haven't left the house in a decade.... You people and your 'generosity' make me feel so guilty. ;)
