I'm intrigued by this project of yours, because I have very little idea what sort of book it is based on what I've seen you post about it so far. Not sure if you've been talking about it more in another place, or if only in filtered posts.
There's been some stuff filtered but mostly I've been talking about it in chats as opposed to posts.
Short version: a number of years ago I was having lunch with another Egyptian pagan. She said to me, "You know, I don't know what the Book of the Dead is." I said, "Uhhh... it's a cross between a hymnal, a grimoire, and 'The Lonely Planet Guide to the Underworld'."
I posted about this to LJ at the time, and got a bunch of responses along the lines of, "HA HA HA THAT'S GREAT YOU SHOULD TOTALLY DO THAT."
So I'm writing the Traveller's Guide to the Duat (Amenti on Two Deben a Week). It's a treatment of the material in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, plus relevant cultural and theological context, written more or less in the style of a perky travel guide for tourists.
