I slept last night! Totally wild! I only had to get up two or three times to deal with heartburn! This is like a perfectly restful night of sleep to the non-pregnant and healthy, by the way. I'm actually wondering if this means the baby's dropping, because the heartburn was pretty epic and I'm also getting strain on the underside of my belly a bit more now.
I am pretty sure I'm having regular Braxton-Hicks contractions, which feel like ... well, when I feel them at all, they feel a wee bit uncomfortable, but usually I don't notice unless I happen to make contact with my belly and notice it's tight. At times, the muscle tightening makes me look like I swallowed a Companion Cube. I do not usually have corners.

teinedreugan and artan_eter a happy pre-father's day. I am really, really profoundly touched by this. He has also come to the conclusion that he wants to actually have a functional relationship with his family and be in touch and stuff, hooray. I need to write him email. My brother is one of nature's good people.
I managed to chase down my blood test results, after some annoying telephone tag, and I am fucking fine. Which means I can get on with my goddamn life, thanks. So long as I eat every two hours or so.
When my response to people on the internet is "I pity da fool" I should probably stop talking to them.
I have been having inordinate amounts of fun with random online games. I have also been kinda neglecting ATITD, for which I have not the concentration, but I should go gather stuff tomorrow so I can contribute to Zog's pilgrimage layout.
I am worried about my poor worn-out menfolk, a bit, but we seem to be muddling through somewhat even if a little short on sleep here and there.
Every time I get up to do anything, Arthur steals my chair. So I have crawled up to sit in bed to leave him to it rather than evict him again.

The word "contraction" never made sense to me; they felt like weird cramps. It took me a long time to recognize them because of that. I thought they'd feel like... I dunno, like a deliberate squeeze of something, or like tight muscles in the shoulders feel.
Sometimes, I think the purpose of the last few weeks of pregnancy is to be so uncomfortable that you're willing to put up with labor to get it over with. (The word "labor" is misleading, a label slapped on it by men who were dealing with women too incoherent to care what it was called, as long as it was going to be over soon. It's not like digging ditches, or even like a hard exercise regimen.)
