My copy of the Faulkner translation of the Pyramid Texts arrived yesterday. And I am a sufficient wacko to kind of squee about this.

And I was flipping through, and thus was delighted by the first part of Utterance 36:

Your purification is the purification of Horus, your purification is the purification of Seth, your purification is the purification of Thoth, your purification is the purification of Dwn-anwy, your purification is the purification of your ka, your purification is the purification of your purification, and this purification of yours also is among your brethren the gods.

Seriously, dude. Take a bath. We mean it.

That's where both, I believe HON and Per Ankh got their purifications adapted from in their daily rites. Both adapted it differently though.

And so did I for that matter.

Look up 269 for the censing prayer for incense.

And I love that icon!

I think PA uses 35, that has the line about the calf on the day of its birth.

It seemed a Useful Icon to have. The photo is my altar space from the old house, with my Aset goblet and the sacred lotus candleholder keshwyn gave me; the text is from a Feri prayer.

I have the same Aset goblet on my altar. I love the candle holder--deep blue is Her color. Although, maybe that's a Feri symbol in this case?

I like how you incorporated both Kemetic and Feri imagery/words into the icon.

The sacred lotus is my favorite Kemetic symbol. (Since I haven't found a pendant I like with the image, I wear Khepri on a medallion. Which has ... similar resonance, after all.)

I find the Kemetic and Feri ... stuff, for lack of a better word ... very compatible. Kemetic energy is very Heru, in its way; Feri energy is very Set, in its way. Together, Bawy, and balance. (I need a Bawy icon someday.)

I have no idea if PA is still active; I don't follow them anymore.

Here's the story: I have promised to make a friend a statue of her patron, as sort of a test case, to see if I can do that sort of work, especially for a deity I'm not personally connected to. If that works out in a manner satisfactory to my friend and to Kapo, then when I get the business going I'll be doing some commissions. (I think I can do it; she gave me a list of Her titles and attributes to work with, and we talked about sacred plants and animals and symbology and associations. I just need to get my ass in gear and do the groundwork.)

First statue will be Khnum, though.

This reminds me of my attempt to follow the ritual structure in the Goetia. I had never taken a bath with hyssop before then, and was somewhat disconcerted when the flowery bits stuck all over me and didn't want to come off, leaving me to wonder, "Am I supposed to turn on the shower now to get them off? This wasn't in the text!"
