So after I melted down in a "completely unfit for human consumption" kind of way yesterday, just not happy with the whole prospect of going into town today.

The ordeal doesn't care if you're happy going through it.

So [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan gave me a lift to the subway and I went to the shrink. And we started out with talking about how much I didn't want to go to the shrink today, about how much I just wanted to crawl back into bed and snuggle the cat, and similar things. (With digressions into writing and talking about my mother.) Very amusing to be explaining [livejournal.com profile] papersky's 'mode' to the psychologist.

Subwayed back up to Davis, wandered around for a bit looking for a Chinese restaurant, called [livejournal.com profile] whispercricket asking for directions to a Chinese restaurant, which it turns out I would have found like three minutes after wandering. Had soup, which was why I wanted to go to the restaurant. Sat about in Davis for an hour, finished Farthing, started Kushiel's Dart.

Tried to get directions to dojo, decided to wait, got agitated about feeling like I was going to be late when I had paperwork I needed to fill out, met [livejournal.com profile] arawen and [livejournal.com profile] whispercricket, got guided in and pointed at instructors and introduced to various people. (Got asked my name by someone, locked up completely because I had no idea whether I should give the legal name or the one that I actually answer to.) Saw other folks I knew there.

Did tai chi stuff for actually about an hour and a half, I think, some long amount of time. Stopped practicing the thing I'd been given to work on when my hip said, "Ummmmm ... time to stop. NOW." (I had taken a few quick breaks to coddle my knees.)

Went for sushi with [livejournal.com profile] arawen, [livejournal.com profile] whispercricket, [livejournal.com profile] keshwyn, and [livejournal.com profile] jikharra. Many fancy sushi things were gotten, and I had bits of various of them. (And my piece of oshizushi exploded.)

I can has vacation now?
