The mother-in-law called earlier this evening to try to talk to Kevin, who has apparently been being as informative and prone to useful clarification as usual. He's out gaming with [livejournal.com profile] keshwyn and [livejournal.com profile] jikharra at the moment, though, so she and I talked for a bit. We discussed home improvement, the construction being done on the state highway that's the main drag for the part of Monkey County they (and Dad) live in, the malaria outbreak in Virginia (I think it's technically in part of Virginia that doesn't count, [livejournal.com profile] suzimoses), that sort of thing.

She asked after my current state of health, and I mentioned that Kevin has a cold; she was amused by this, given how grouchy he gets when he's ill. Then she asked after [livejournal.com profile] suzimoses's health. So I was reminded that I wanted to tell her how much I appreciate that she does that, and I explained what happened when I tried coming out to my mother. She got a little flustered, I think, that I brought up the whole poly thing (which she's still not sure how to deal with), but I think she was pleased by my appreciation. Which is good, because I do appreciate it a lot.

In other news, I have made the Soup that [livejournal.com profile] wiredferret gave me the recipe for again, and it's the best it's ever come out, and ooooooooooooooh, moan, wriggle. Good stuff. I've given an lj-code to [livejournal.com profile] gwynyth's OSO. I've dropped random possibly plot-related stuff in [livejournal.com profile] roimata's lap on NE2. I'd talk gamemastery stuff with [livejournal.com profile] erispope if she'd unidle, because I wanna solicit advice on same. I've asked [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses for a mushroom-related recipe because [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut and I both want it. And I've pretty consciously written an entry so as to include a huge number of "lj user=" tag things, because it struck me as wicked amusing to do so.
