Whitney says, "Also, I have used the word 'ontology' or derivatives thereof more in the last three days than I think I have in my entire *life* previous."
Brooks [[livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses] unidles, wonders when Whitney will recapitulate phylogeny.
Whitney says, "That would be ontogeny."
Brooks says, "Yes, but you would be surprised how many pages have it "ontology" when I wnet to check on Google to make sure I was remembering it right."
Whitney says, "And while my theology considers log- and gen- to be equivalent roots ... ;)"
Brooks snerks.
Brooks says, "Ah, indeed. What ontology recapitulates is philology. (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Ontology)"
Whitney says, "... indeed."

totally OT, but...

I re-read your "validity rant" after seeing it linked at TC, and I wanted to tell you how much I like it. Also wanted to see if you might be interested in writing a rant about the words "broadcasting" and "flaunting". I came across another "it's fine if you are/do/believe this, just don't broadcast it" person who seems completely bewildered as to why I'd assume he wants me to hide and be ashamed of my faith. He just meant that I shouldn't "broadcast" it. I'll take Double Standards for $400, Alex!

BTW, how are you? And how goes the Feri? Any idea how I might find out whether there are Feris in the DC area?
