It's a belly dance training video that jenett recommended. Sort of newagey in tone (I cracked up at the posture comment that went "Imagine your hips are a shallow bowl filled with your essence"), but it's a pretty good workout of some muscles that I could really do with strengthening.
I made teinedreugan go get me some when he got up. :}
I don't like taking painkillers unless I have to, because I deal with enough minor pain day-to-day (plus a history of migraine) that I'm reluctant around them -- I don't want to lose effectiveness on them for when I have serious pain.
But it was the right thing to do; after the sleep I got before teinedreugan got up my hip was aching pretty badly, but after the sleep I got post-painkiller it was pretty much okay. I really need to learn better judgement on these things.
The nice thing about anti-inflammatories is that they don't tend to a strong adaptation curve--which is good, as otherwise I'd be completely screwed.
It took me a while to learn when to just go ahead and swallow the effing pill, as well as when to take the anti-inflammatory *before* beginning the activity so as not to do myself further unnecessary damage. It's not even so much the relief of pain (although that's important too) as it is that taking the NSAID speeds healing and/or helps prevent damage in the first place.

I think my new first goal will be to work up to having the endurance and the muscle strength to go through the video straight through once.

...man, I just hear that in Brad Pitt's voice. "You are not a beautiful and unique bellydancing snowflake!" :)

I have to keep reminding myself of that damn near every day when I come home from rehearsal hurting...

I usually alleviate that by taking the naproxen *before* I go to bed...and, of course, sleeping with my heating pad.
