Dance study/Exercise Video comment

Damn, I have a lot of muscles of which I was not previously aware.

(Ow.)

Strangely enough, I enjoy that feeling sometimes. Lets me know I actually did something, I guess.

Hee! Sounds fun - belly dancing is on my list of activities to check out.

Newagey...is it Dolphina?

oh... actually, I studied with them a while in Boston. They're really really sweet... but yeah... very new-agey!

"Imagine your hips are a shallow bowl filled with your essence"

...man, I just hear that in Brad Pitt's voice. "You are not a beautiful and unique bellydancing snowflake!" :)

I think there's a really bad porn line in there somewhere, too. In addition to the laughing at the pretentious...

Yeah, I was totally going to point out the improbability (though not the impossibility) of female bukkake there.

S'funny, compadre, I thought your abs were the only muscles you'd been exercising lately. You'd think they'd be good and toned by now, eh?

Isn't dance just so much fun that way?

I have to keep reminding myself of that damn near every day when I come home from rehearsal hurting...

[identity profile] ashlupa.livejournal.com 2006-04-15 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, that's bad.

I usually alleviate that by taking the naproxen *before* I go to bed...and, of course, sleeping with my heating pad.

The nice thing about anti-inflammatories is that they don't tend to a strong adaptation curve--which is good, as otherwise I'd be completely screwed.

It took me a while to learn when to just go ahead and swallow the effing pill, as well as when to take the anti-inflammatory *before* beginning the activity so as not to do myself further unnecessary damage. It's not even so much the relief of pain (although that's important too) as it is that taking the NSAID speeds healing and/or helps prevent damage in the first place.
