Well, not a hole, quite, but three dents, each of which has cracked the plaster and paint, and one of which is just falling apart.

I've taken one of the fragments and have it sitting next to the computer right now. It's a little longer than the long bone of my thumb, and a bit wider than my thumb at the base; it's roughly triangular, and curves to the left a bit like a scimitar.

It's from where the knuckle of my right fist hit the wall -- that time I hit it with my hand sideways, because I don't want to do a straight-on punch when I'm wearing my rings. They are, after all, much stiffer than my bones.

I wasn't expecting the wall to be that soft.

We painted it not six months ago.

At least Kevin thinks we still have paint of the right colour.

I'm sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do to help? From the other end of the country, where the weather is cold and rainy and a goddamned blue jay has been screaming its fool head off for the last twenty minutes? Yeesh.

I'm being kicked off the computer. Squirrels are really just fluffy diurnal tree-rats. I hope your day gets better.

Here is me hoping you will have no further frustrations worhty of wall pounding in the forseeable future. (Here is me not thinking it likely, but here is me hoping.)

Feel better, Roomiesan.

When I was a teenager, I got pretty good at replastering holes in walls. If you need help, email me. I know a lot about emotionally-induced fist-shaped-and-sized holes in walls. Like, repairing them.

I've not entirely figured out how to avoid making them, though.

Although making and eating carbohydrate-based foods sometimes helps. The perogies are a good idea.

The pierogies sound useful and boonful, as we say in mammalspeak.

There is a Lioness thinking of you. The Lioness, although somewhat preoccupied lately, is at the moment keeping swatches of companionable silent appropriate-friendly-distance company in the same large area now and then, occasionally waving a paw in your direction and saying "..." in an amiable and not-response-demanding fashion. If this is useful to you, the Lioness will continue; if it's unhelpful or unboonly, the Lioness will be amiable about relocating her meditations and vigils to a more appropriate spot, or whatever would be good.

And thank you for the exceptionally cool birthday song link. Was good.

Back in school, I had a similar transaction between my foot and a giant plate glass window. It ended with the same, "Wow. I didn't expect the window to be quite so fragile," reaction. It's an interesting mixture of emotions, that.
