3351 words on the chapter, whatever it is.
brooksmoses can probably tell me what chapter it is. 497 of those were written today.
I really oughta find a good userpic for these writing entries, just because I can. I'm tempted by the mountainous heap of books in this corner, overflowing its cases and stacked up on the floor, but I'm not sure I want the world knowing how cluttered my living room is. (*eyes one stack*: From bottom to top: Greek: An Intensive Course; Bird Diseases; Teach Yourself Sanskrit; a Hebrew-English Tanakh; Aspects and Personality.) (And another, somewhat more randomly distributed: The True Game (Tepper); Defender (Cherryh); a Scottish Gaelic dictionary; the Canterbury Tales on top of a book on herbalism whose title I cannot see.) (Last time I did this I came away with the profound impression that I was a flake; this time I seem to come away with the impression that I'm a language-obsessive flake, which is only rendered worse by the stack consisting of the Vampire: The Masquerade players guide, an Intermediate Algebra textbook (taken out to try helping
lstone with something), another herbalism book, a book on Chinese horoscopes, and a case of Polish language tapes.) I think all my winemaking books are in the heap in front of the snake tank.
Hello, there's a Dr. Seuss book in there somewhere. *fishes it out* I'm sure there's an explanation of why One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, but for now I'll just put it on top of the language tapes.
I don't think I'm up to starting on chapter next-plus-one, so I'll stop here on the night and probably go to bed soon because I'm having a Sorry Excuse For A Mammal temperature moment.

Does your snake show any signs of winemaking, though?

I spent some time at the weekend fiddling around with chapter 20 of the current main project, which is now about a thousand words shorter, has a very different ending, and seems the better for it; must now carefully leave it sit for a couple of weeks. Also took another pass through the epilogue of the Thing Which Is Complete Save For The Epilogue From Hell, which has grown to three chapter's length so far; it's better in some silly simple ways, different in some ways I can't judge yet, and still feels like it isd lacking something I can't grok. *sigh*

About how long are your chapters? Cutting a thousand words off one of mine would be Massive Difference-shaped, 'cause mine tend to about three kilowords. (
Ngrk on the 'there's something missing here' thing. I hate it when that happens. . .
