I still feel sick. Maybe I'll be better; at least today I didn't wander around in a haze occasionally exploding with outrage and "I CAN'T THINK!" And I got work done.

[livejournal.com profile] keshwyn: the decoy worked. I promptly found my thread.

Ordered a number of plants from my usual online plants vendor; we shall see if I have learned how not to kill them. (Also ordered a book about caring for one of them, given that I've killed two in the past and consider fifteen dollars for the book as a one-time expense much more efficient than learning through repeated herbicide of finicky tropicals.)

Random templeness: there was a death in the Kemetic community recently, someone who caused a great deal of sturm und drang before I converted (who I therefore know approximately nothing about). Llyne Merytamon posted an incredible memorial rant to the public portion of the KOL board. Wowza. I'd say, "Go, read it" only I'm not sure it makes even the sense it did to me without at least a little context. A terrific piece of writing nonetheless. (I was moved to tears without knowing much of anything. It's good that I've remembered how to cry at least sometimes, even if it was hell getting there.)

There will probably be a third Marriage Protection Rant, but it won't be today.

Today's word count:
1463 (section 41, done, at 1593)
. . . okay, maybe I won't get anything on 42 done, given that banging my head against language seems to have given me both a headache and writers' block. Still, not bad to break a kilo after so much time off.

Llyne's posts on the topic of Isep are *good* pieces of writing on the topic of just how differently the Gods think when it comes to helping people. Eris has a habit of making other people collateral damage in dealing with her pet projects, just as Llyne speculated about Sekhmet.

Believing that we understand their motives because they seem to think like we do most of the time is... dangerous. At best.

To a point. Odin's interested in people, so he does make at least a token effort to come across comprehensible. He wanders off-script just enough to make you aware that limiting his awareness that much is an actual struggle for him, though...

Her ideas about Sekhmet were certainly interesting. Although I think I know just enough about him-- or else I think enough like that myself-- to not buy a lot of it. Maybe it's just me. Err... thingy. Losing the words.

Memo to self: Pick [livejournal.com profile] lilairen's head for ideas about GMing gods for that campaign I'm working on...
