1098 words for section 24, which is now done; I did that in three bits, don't know how much is today's. Actually, yes I do, I can just select the bit I wrote and wordcount that -- 698. Also 321 words in a section labelled 'Outtakes: 24' in case I want it later. It was a way the scene could have gone, but the wrong mode.

Spent a while googling Just So Stories for [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses (o my best beloved), wound up giving him a link to The Cat That Walked By Himself.

Also spent a while this evening wandering about humming the Toreador Song. ([livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan was watching something that made reference to the Bad News Bears! I can't help it!) I suspect this means I'm better overall; the level of music intrinsic to my being is often a good heuristic. And my hormones are behaving again, which is the other part of that feeling-much-better-now-*teeth*.

Are you burning kyphi, then? Did you mix it yourself, or is it commercial, or ...?

(Inquiring minds & kyphi fans wanna know. No, I haven't mixed my own ...yet.)

Just So Stories --

Forgot to mention -- these are, indeed, wonderful. I was given a large-format copy when I was a little kid, and read all of them repeatedly.

I was very annoyed, a few years ago, when some pack of morons brought out an album with Jack Nicholson or someone equally heavy reading a few of them, and wonderful background sounds by Bobby McFerrin, ...and I heard the narrator say the words "insatiable curiosity" repeatedly. No, no, no. Wrong. Bad. Unethical gratuitous meddling that ruins one of the most charming aspects of that story.

Harrumpfh.

Anyway, cheers --
jon

Hope it had the nifty paintings and things? The Cat that Walked is very good-- also The Elephant's Child and the Rhinoceros--

Them that takes cakes
Which the Parsee-man bakes
Make dreadful mistakes.
