I finally got my act in gear to work on doing the gods-be taxes, and discovered a marked lack of one of the forms I know we should get, and I'd really rather not do them without one of the large deductions.

Also, it has been a more exciting day than I really wanted. [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan decided to make a banana-milk thing. The blender scared the holy howling hell out of the cats, who fled, bouncing off a painting that was sitting at the bottom of the steps in their headlong charge away from whatever it was that made that godawful noise.

You know those horrible moments where you can see something falling, as if in slow motion, and can't move through the suddenly molasses-packed universe in time to catch it?

Well, now I know that painting wasn't framed with plexi.

We hung it in the guest room to protect it from further cat predations.

In other news, we went and ogled birdies and snakies and priced an aquarium.

I will finish watching Help! now.

There's an IRS site where you can download forms if you're willing/able to cope with pdfs.

Last night, Taichou decided that my Sony 5-DVD player is his mortal enemy.

Evidently, when I opened the tray to swap discs, it startled him. (He was sitting less than a foot away at the time.) For the rest of the night, he kept going back over there and staring it down, perched in a "ready to pounce" pose in case it should get any further ideas...

...he apparently suspects that the pile of VHS tapes stacked nearby is in cahoots, as well. In between DVD-player staredowns, he'd walk over to the pile and swat at it, the way you or I would swat at a small bug.

We have strange kitties. :)

Except that I'm pretty sure he expected the pile of tapes to strike back. :)

And once again the directors overlooked Beta. Such a sad end to a promising career.
