Not only did one of the best-known board fundies jump in after someone commented on her friend's suicide to affirm that it was entirely right and okay for parents to teach their children that homosexuality was a mortal sin, but oh, she's sorry that the kid died. . .

. . . but someone has posted a response to that announcement asking for proof that the suicide actually happened.

The other guy, I don't know what he believes in other than his right to display his contemptuous lack of empathy prominently at any and all opportunities.

the insensitivity of someone asking that entirely beggars belief.

i read some of that thread, and started wondering why on earth i was actually considering becoming a christian myself. and then i looked in my inbox and re-read the emails from a professor of mediaeval history and theology, and i looked at what preachermanfeed writes, and i was reminded that there are actually christians out there who don't make my skin crawl. and they seem to be the educated and intelligent lot (in general) which does help somewhat.

I'm not a Christian but...that sort of fundie reminds me of Matthew 6. They have their reward.
