Went to grocery and liquor store to pick up stuff for making a birthday present for my father (who'll be visiting in a couple of weeks, and who has his birthday in a couple of weeks), also for making something for brooksmoses's brother, given that I'll be getting out there just before his birthday.

I really need to dig up the URLs to the spice dealers online if I'm going to be doing this sort of thing regularly. Bwaah. (Especially since they might have fenugreek, and the oil I'm pondering making needs some of that.)

Going to Trader Joe's is dangerous. Though they didn't have chicken gyoza today. They have nifty pot plants. Last time we were there I got a Cabernet grapevine. This time I got a jasmine plant.

Jasmine! How cool is that?

My cat -- the orange -- alternates between forgetting the snake's in there and hysterical rounds of, "Mommy! Mommy! There's a snake in there! Do something about it! Do something about it!"

We had two cats who (for allergy reasons) lived on the third floor, and two dogs who (for said reasons) lived on the first floor (we two-footeds slept in the dark, cramped back room on the second floor. It was absurd, all of it). Every time Nikki The Impaired Doberman heard the cats running around up thar, she'd burst into frantic peals of "Mommy! Mommy! There's a cat up there! Do something about it! Do something about it!" This went on for three years, mind you...


He's much more likely to try to, uh, help around feeding times.

The Burms get huge, don't they? There are a couple adults at the place I got Kunda. They're handsome fellows, but I think the royals/balls are prettier. ;)

I'm definitely polyanimalous too. :} I'm planning on getting a parrot in a year or two. And maybe a turtle.

Mice, frozen, thawed. He gets terribly affronted, though. "Mom! Mom! The wiggly thing got a mouse! Why don't I get a mouse, too? it's not fair!"
