I used to volunteer in the live animal unit of the local natural history museum. They had the most beautiful Ball pythons and Burmese pythons. The Burmese were, oh, 4-5" in diameter, and probably 7'long if you stretched 'em out.
Folks could rent out the museum for parties and hire museum staff for entertainment. Every once in a while I'd do the ol' Rent-A-Naturalist routine... for $100 bucks I'd put on the silly kacki safari uniform, grab an owl or a snake or something, and circulate at a coctail party for a couple hours. A few times I took a Burmese... wrapped it around my waist and waded out into the crowd. It was heavy, but well worth it for the reactions from startled Ladies and Gents. ;-)
