Today's rejection

from a major SFF magazine said they liked my style but that specific story didn't work for them and as rejections go that's rather pleasant.

I am going to take them at their word and make them a priority target, heh.

The rejection of specificity seems far better than the rejection of revulsion.

They had it for 99 days. I had bits of time where everything in my files on the Submission Grinder was rejections for things they had received after mine. So I was feeling rather hopeful, overall, and I will take this as 'justification for hope'.

It is certainly a nice change from 'I cannot wrap my brain around your prose'.

Permit me to commiserate about the "I cannot wrap my brain around your prose" sort of remark, particularly the need to avoid making suggestions as to where they might obtain a better brain.
