And I'm caught up and stuff, even on the several hundred posts on livejournal I missed.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time feeling like I was looking like Wayne. Something about the long, dark hair, the dark baseball cap with writing on, and the jacket, and the tendency to travel with a purposeful slouch, I suspect.

I grumpily realised as I was packing to go home that the book I brought down with intent to show it to [livejournal.com profile] wcg in case we got together for lunch or something got entirely forgotten about, despite having gotten together with [livejournal.com profile] wcg for lunch or something. Rar. Maybe next time.

I don't really know what to say about my holiday. Had I been coherent to write yesterday (and had the 'net been working) I would have cheerfully posted a list of license plates I sighted on the drive back, because that was the sort of fried I was. (I was up until quarter of six the night before talking with [livejournal.com profile] vectorvillain, which I suspect might count as an excuse of some sort.)

[livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan and I are watching the Muppet Show. This has resulted in the following conversation with [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut:

Whitney is rendered entirely nonverbal by Elton John on the Muppet Show.
Tesla says "GodDAMN it. There goes Opera AGAIN."
I say "He is dressed up . . . as a preschooler's Thanksgiving turkey rendition . . . complete with broad fanning tail in feathers dyed red, orange, yellow, and green."
    Tesla says "..."
I say "I shall not comment upon the speedo headgear covered in small mirrors."
    Tesla says "Thank you."
I say "The gigantic red-tinted eyeglasses are just normal. For Elton John."
I say "Okay, the round flat black hat with the piano keyoard around the edges of it and outlined in glitter is . . . less distressing."
Tesla says "... still fairly distressing, though."

[livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan, [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses, [livejournal.com profile] suzimoses and I went out to dinner a few days ago at the restaurant where my brother works, and got seated in his section. He declared us all one big happy family. (Or at least one big something.)

Something more coherent may emerge later, but we're intending to go out after this episode.

Oddly, just before I read this, [livejournal.com profile] cheshyre read me an excerpt from a Harry Potter fanfic she was reading, in which Draco Malfoy claims that most one-hit-wonder bands are actually Wizards who went on a rebelious kick, got it out of their systems, and came back to the wizarding world. The exception, the one who actually stayed out there for a long time, was one "Reggie Dwight, Hufflepuff class of 1970," who had "some song about crocodiles."
