Found out late last night that the person who gave me my first editorial gig died of covid. I get my second shot today.
So I have emotions about that but I'm not 100% certain what they all are. (We weren't close or anything and haven't interacted in over a decade but that's still a Milestone Human In My Life who is not extant anymore and.)
A thousand of bread, a thousand of beer, a thousand of every good thing.

It can take a quantity of time to have coherent emotions. That's entirely OK. (In some cases, I still don't know how I feel about stuff that happened decades ago.)
I'm glad you're getting your second shot.

The confluence of timings is contributing substantially to the overall feeling of "?????" though.

Oh, I can well imagine!
Not only will reality neglect narrative unities, all the constructable ones on the available events can be Just Wrong.
It's a challenge to the feels mechanisms.

*hugs*
Those things do chime strangely and would be powerful enough apart. If appropriate, their memory for a blessing. I am glad that you will be safe.
