Me: Hmm?
teinedreugan: *incoherently* Jus checkin' [mumble mumble].
Me: What?
teinedreugan: Just checking to make sure there weren't any more wires.
Me: ... not a robot baby.
teinedreugan: *nods affirmatively, gives me a funny look, goes back to sleep*

Pretty sure comments made when not actually awake are only supposed to garner the reaction of nodding and smiling.

And possibly explaining to the commenter when they are actually awake. This is a point where having a tape recording is handy. (Do tape recorders even exist any more?)
