kiya: (making stuff)

So for a while I have been poking at my personal symbology in the hopes of making it integrate more smoothly. And I did this by means of seeing if I could fit it to a Tarot deck symbol-set.

And as I kept poking at it it kept getting more and more awesome, at least to me, and then I babbled about it at people, and they thought it was awesome too. To the "If that deck existed, I would buy it" level of thinking it was awesome.

Long story short: last night I made contact with an artist friend and said, "Would you like to help me with this awesome project?"

We will be trying out Kickstarter when we have enough sorted out.

That sounds fun and nifty, indeed!

I'd recommend Indiegogo rather than Kickstarter; with IG, you get whatever money is raised, regardless whether you meet whatever goal you set, which can at least get you a nest egg to get started with. With Kickstarter, if you don't hit your goa, you get *nothing*.

That said, if $x is sufficient and you get $y << $x, then you're better off getting nothing and having no obligations.

The other side, of course, is $z >> $x and you find out you mispriced postage or something hilarious so the better your campaign does, the worse off you are. But I've heard assuming you're going to use flat rate boxes helps a lot for US shipping.

As a matter of principle, I don't ship overseas, but I also have had zero Kickstarters to date, successful or otherwise.

Anyway, awesome and I hope it has exactly the right amount of success!
