Snow, that is.

I got my act together to go to bed, now that I've got the laundry started, looked out the window, and said, "That's . . . an inch of snow, isn't it?"

I checked the front door, where I can see the accumulation on the railing pretty clearly.

It was an inch of snow.

Sneaky bastard.

They said we were supposed to get some last Saturday. So I wake up, and it's clear, dry and sunny.

Last night some areas around here got some, but nothing in as close to DC as I live (25-30 miles away is apparently close enough)

It is indeed startlingly snowy. Pretty pretty pretty.

Be safe in your drive. Have a good holiday.

And people say to me "Why did you move to Minnesota, isn't Boston's weather nicer?"

(Ok, actually, we've had snow already this year. But only a little, and no big storm or anything. Maybe half an inch, if you stretch it and fluff it up and stuff.)

It seems to be settling in to snow here. So far in November we've had days that did not get over -7, and days at 18 degrees with 83% humidity, warm wet blanket days.

I think the weirdest thing about it for me is seeing trees shedding leaves on top of a heavy snowfall. That looks _so_ much the wrong way around.
