kaifu is a hero of the revolution for spending two days with me doing most of the babyminding so that I could get a babycation. I got some work done but mostly I got a bit of a break. Oh, and I planted some irises, which has needed done for a month and actually could not be done while covered in baby (if I put her down on a blanket outside and don't sit with her she flips out).


On a not entirely unrelated note, the spell-list for a first level sorceror-nanny should probably be:

- mending
- prestidigitation
- dancing lights
- mage hand

- sleep
- comprehend languages (or, if the GM rules that comprehend languages does not work on babybabble, unseen servant)

(Has to be a sorceror, a wizard's pre-prep mentality is not compatible with the Chaos That Is Baby. One must be adaptable.)

Prestidigitation can be used for a variety of minor cleaning tasks!

How useful!

Let me see... You may need some kind of minor healing for the side-effects (on the mother) of breastfeeding and the inevitable headbonks.

A Decanter of Endless Milk might be useful, especially if it could be tuned for breast milk...

The heal boo-boo spell (heal 1 hp) is not available for wizard/sorceror.

However, we could roll the nanny as a bard. They get a little healing, and I think the spells I listed off are on the 3ed bard spell list ....

Bard-nanny should be able to pick up Endless Lullaby (a calming spell) around second level.

But yes. I agree with that. (I also still argue that 'find this person now' has its uses once one is past the baby stage and into the independent mobility stage.)

From a 4th Edition perspective, Mending and Dancing Lights are just some of the many uses of Prestidigitation, which, along with Mage Hand, is conveniently at-will. Sleep, sadly, is only available daily, representing the realistic difficulty of this task.
