whispercricket: Wake me if you need spelling or if she needs to go downstairs.
teinedreugan: Goodnight.
whispercricket: Night.
teinedreugan: whispercricket ... how do you spell 'autonomous'?
whispercricket: ... A U T O ... N O M O U S?
teinedreugan: Okay! I'll wake you if I need spelling!
whispercricket: ... you're more awake than I thought.
teinedreugan: No, I wouldn't have made that joke if I was awake.
Me: Dear?
teinedreugan: Yes?
Me: artan_eter is a bad influence on you.
* teinedreugan and whispercricket collapse in hysterical giggles*
artan_eter, in the other bedroom: What'd I do?!
Me: He *punned*.
artan_eter: Okaaay?
Me: It was totally the sort of pun you would do.
whispercricket: Except he can't spell!
Me, now losing it: Except you can't spell!
whispercricket: I'll go explain the rest to him.

As the other bedroom door shuts, I hear the context being presented.

Oh, that's excellent.

(And also, entertainingly, the first thing I thought of upon reading nothing but whispercricket's opening line. There are aspects of artan_eter's sense of humor which I find very familiar to me. :)
