My left breast has always been somewhat larger than the right one; the left nipple sufficiently remarkable to have earned the nick "the mutant nipple".

My left breast is now much larger than my right one. And swollen and tender, which I suspect of being not unrelated to the scar tissue.

I do not own a bra. I find the fucking things intolerably uncomfortable.

Even if I did own a bra, it would not fit my left breast in its current condition.

Even if I went to acquire a bra, I am sufficiently lopsided that it would be impossible to get one that fits.

I have made a tit sling out of a scarf in the hopes of alleviating the swelling by positioning bits of me in more comfortable places.

This situation is suboptimal.

It's pregnancy development. But yes, I'm minding it closely -- the scar tissue bit kind of worries me.

For the record, *nursing* bras are such a revelation to me that I have sworn to love them forever and never forsake them. They are, as far as I can tell, *completely* unlike any other engineering of bras, and moreover come in an extremely wide variety of shapes (though shops tend to stock only one or two brands, because shops are idiots).

So it might be worth a try, if the situation persists. Also, savoy cabbage leaves help with engorgement after delivery; I dunno if they might with this.

I would suggest one of those light, almost tank top looking bras. Also, you might consider shopping for a nursing tank or nursing bra at your local maternity shop. Once you find something you can live with, you will be amazed at how much it helps. And, since I assume everyone plans to breast feed, might I also suggest you find a local Lactation Consultant and have a visit several weeks before delivery. I don't know the specifics, but when I hear "scar tissue" and "mutant nipple", my alarm bells go off and I think, "needs extra planning!"

The traditional solution to bra-shopping for lopsided breasts is to fit to the large one and put some padding in the empty space on the smaller side. (For large differences, the padding will help it fit better.) This will probably work better than a scarf.

You could also try Lady Grace, which has a few stores in the area. They have a good range of brawear, including mastectomy bras and so forth, so I imagine they'd be able to recommend some solutions. There's one in Coolidge Corner.

Wish I didn't have to wear a bra though.. but short of lopping them off, I don't have a choice. (Also reduction is possible.. down to DD. >_<)

I'm a big fan of the Sassybax bralettes. Right now, none of my bras fit except for these and they are incredibly comfy. They are also stretching to accomodate me as I swell up. Pretty impressive! More like wearing a tank top than a bra.
