Curse you, archaeowiki, for having extensive bibliography notes.
Curse you, interesting academic books, for being either not readily findable or four hundred dollars each.

... I should go back to seeing if I can find an image of what that god asked me to make for Him.
... hey, that's a nice image of the god.
... 'archaeowiki.org', huh?
... oh, it has a bibliography section.
... oh. Um. Fecundity Figures: Egyptian Personification and Iconography of a Genre, huh? I should add that to my Amazon wishlist, that looks useful for a bunch of stuff I'm doing.
... ergh, it's $80.
... if there's one reference that's sound and interesting for Egyptian religion linked to one god, I wonder ...
... *looks up Hathor*
... got that one on my list already, that's in French, I don't read French, hey, Geraldine Pinch, she's good.
... agh, $99.
... *looks up Set*
... *looks up Seth*
... hey, an essay collection.
... for $174.
... *looks up Wepwawet*
... no entry, typical.
... *looks up Anubis*
... just articles, not books, okay.
... *looks up Khnum*
... no bibliography? Sad.
... you know, with certain of my religious obligations I should look at references for all the gods of Egypt, not just the ones I personally hang with.
... *looks up Osiris and Isis*
... *sighs, finds the wikilist of all the Egyptian gods they have entries for*
... *goes through the list adding things to Amazon wishlist*
... *whines at LJ*
"Looking for" isn't quite right, it's ... "found", more or less, and I have Work to do. Fortunately, it's long-term work, so the fact that I just accumulated a bunch more stuff I need to find/read to my list isn't going to slow me up significantly.

I have Allison Robert's book on Hathor called Hathor Rising. It's pretty good with a few cringey moments here and there.
Pinch's book on Hathor is supposed to be good.
Both should be resonably priced.
www.addall.com may help.
