Great snake hunt

Excitement for the evening: coming home and discovering that the python has escaped.

He has safely been found, returned to his enclosure without incident, and all that good stuff.

I, in keeping with my random injuries for the day (falling into a deep pothole in the parking lot at the restaurant we had dinner in and wrenching ankle and knee) managed to crack my skull on the mantel while locating my reptilian baby, and thus have a rather impressive lump behind my left ear and a bizarre itchy swollen feeling in my ear canal.

(I match arawen or something? Though he got his bizarre ear canal sensations without the lump.)

Where was he? And did he interact with any extraplanar deities while he was out?

(You have my sympathy about the pothole - I hit a couple with my bike yesterday, thinking they were just puddles, and I'm kind of surprised I didn't bend my rims. Sneaky things, potholes.)

He wasn't where he hid the other two times he escaped, which is in the pile of games and miniatures cases right next to his tank. He had ventured across the big arch by the hallway and hid in the next corner around in the gap between the CD shelves and the wall, behind a pile of CDs.

Amazingly enough, the cats were useless for finding him.

The pothole was -- the ball of my foot was on flat ground, my heel went into the pothole, and I stopped falling because my ankle locked, not because my heel hit the bottom of the hole. Also, very wet.
