V. tired.

Met Melek Taus Friday night.

Breakdown Saturday. This is the work I need to be doing, yes.

Probably ready to do some ink after today's work.

Getting kitty snuggles.

Watching the Sox kick ass.

All good.

More later.

Melek Taus? Now that is an odd name. It is Arabic for "peacock angel", and an Iraqi sect called the Yazidi use it to refer to the devil IIRC.

Melek Taus is the peacock god also honored in Feri practice; the Yezidi acknowledge him as one of the seven angels who administer the world, as shown in this hymn (from The Yezidi: The Angelick Cultus in the Middle East at disinfo):

Oh my Lord, you are the angel of men and jinns,
Oh my Lord, you are the angel of the Throne and the Seat,
Oh my Lord, you are the angel of the Bull and the Fish,
Oh my Lord, you are the angel of the world and what is holy.

The Yezidi are Kurdish, BTW; I'm not sure they'd appreciate being conflated universally with the Iraqis after the stomping Hussein put on their ethnic group.

By "Iraqi" I only mean that they live in the area historically known as al-`Iraq al-`Arabi ("Arab" Iraq, as opposed to al-`Iraq al-`Ajami or "Persian" Iraq, which is in Iran).

The Yazidi have rarely been treated kindly by any authorities, whether Shi`ite or Sunni, throughout history.

All good is very good hearing. Yay.

Glad weekend was .. erm. Productive. Having had some of those in the past, there's something about being on the other side that helps. Sort of, anyway.

*hugs*
