Attempted to give myself a concussion today. Failed, but felt entertainingly lightheaded for a while. Note to self: do not stand up while under the corner of the mantel. It hurts. (I took aspirin, and that helped.) Seem to have given myself a black eye, though not much of one; perhaps an intensely tan eye would be better put.

At some point I should read the latest Harry Potter, which we picked up in the grocery store. At this point, however, I am too perturbed by the godawful colour scheme of its cover to be inspired. Not that I'm doing well at the fiction-reading anyway.

Did research for garb in the hope of being able to do major garb assembly in the next month or so. Folks I was in high school with will agree, it is a hat. Suspecting I will either have to do Russian persona or come up with a good reason for a Pole to be using Russian clothing styles, to the extent they differ. Meanwhile, this fellow provoked the comment from [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses of, "History's full of interesting people we hardly ever hear of; he seems to be one of them."

Cauldron folks: I set up a feed for Heartshadow's religious blog on LJ, so if you want to get notifications of updates on your fpage, you can subscribe to [livejournal.com profile] flamekeeping.

Did some writing, both religious and work-related. Go me. This chapter is being oddly tricky.

Meanwhile, I am pleased with the increasing randomness of my playlist.

heh, I've done it, too. In my case it was in the '70s and I stood up to crack my head against the corner of an overhanging cabinet. Ouch. I think I was more successful than you, tho, re: a concussion. I never went to a doctor so I don't know for sure, but for a day, I felt slightly nauseated. Along with the horrid headache, of course.

Many lessons are learned the hard way, unfortunately. Hope you're back to normal soon. :)

When I fell; off my bike the fioreman I had over for dinner later in the weekend said I had indeed had a concussion (corroborating what the pre-med said) but I didn't need to see a doctor because if it had been serious I would have known by then.

That hat page -- what sort of maniac puts the instructions for making something in yellow type?

Instructions for making something! In yellow type! On a white page! What is she thinking!

This is a very fine example of why people really need to remember to set the page background color, regardless of whether they're setting a background image as well. (Once the background image loads, it's pretty readable.)

Unfortunately, that's one of those 1995-era lessons that people have sadly forgotten, because it looks fine when they preview it on their own computer.

(And it would go away completely if people remembered the 2005-era lesson of "Don't use background images under type anyway; it's ugly and hard to read!")
