Me: . . . okay, that's an odd question. I'll have to ask anu3bis [if he comes to games].
teinedreugan: what is?
Me: Can you get cheese in a kosher deli?
teinedreugan: That is a weird question. Hmm. I'd expect so, they'd just have to keep them separate.
Me: But you can't put cheese on your sandwich!
teinedreugan: Okay, good point. Hmm.
Me: Except if someone wanted a cheese sandwich.
teinedreugan: Right.
Me: But someone might want, like, a pound of kosher cheese.
teinedreugan: Right.
Me: You see why I have to know!
teinedreugan: Yes, yes I do.
Me: These are the critical questions of our time!
teinedreugan: . . . if you say so.
Me: . . . I also have to write this conversation down for Livejournal.

No kosher deli that I know of keeps two kitchens. It's just asking for trouble.

So, no, a kosher meat deli would not have any cheese.

Apparently, according to a bit of Google searching, the answer is that one cannot get cheese -- except, of course, for soy "cheese" -- at a kosher deli.

I seem to recall having eaten a cheese sandwich in a kosher deli before. But I could be mistaken. It was a long time ago.
