Went to games.
Played Cosmic Wimp-Out with
kaifu (and
arawen and
autumnesquirrel and later
whispercricket), who demonstrated her Tremendous Viking Dice-Rolling Skills. (I blame
arawen, who challenged her on this account.)
Played piano. There is a piano. It is tuned. It is a real piano, really, not one of the plastic ones. It is happy. And I realised that there's this part of my soul that has been wanting music, music I make, and so I need to include musicmaking on my sense of what I need to do to be whole. Which is all to the good. I will practice flute, and I will poke
erispope for guitar, and I will make plaintive noises about pianos.
Played DDR too, starting with
kaifu, who knew more or less what she was doing, then accumulating
autumnesquirrel-and-partner, and then
kviri, who protested at length that he was liable to be quite horrible and then proceeded to do better than any of the other newbies.
(For my non-yay commentary, I am not going to rant about them sending Stephen (
dirtydianadd's brother, who I dated briefly in high school) back to Iraq. I will just pray for his safety and that he doesn't set anything important accidentally on fire.)
The "No excuses" regime has made me more honest with myself when I'm making excuses and willing to talk about them; we will see if this eventually evolves into getting over myself already.

I've made it very clear to Herself that that's all well and good, *when she puts one in my hands.* ;)

I can't play for beans myself (at least not yet, we'll see what having an in-tune piano and no nagging parents in the house does for me and my giant "perfect piano hands") but I love the sound of a live piano.

Check into that.
