I have done some sewing today. I am multiply punctured as per usual, but I have the two critical seams done; for the rest of it I either need more ribbon or to decide to do something else. It looks actually pretty good. Also, the process brought out a rare moment of cute from Lennon, who just loves it when I try to lay out fabric. (The folds in the fabric were deemed a threat to household security by Special Agent Arthur, who pounced them thoroughly. Fortunately, he pounced the other end from the one I was trying to sew at the time, and then both cats chased a d6 into the hallway. I have no idea where they got the d6.)

Entertained myself with mild stupidities on WoW while mostly idling and chatting with trelana while I was doing my sewing and other work, and weirded out a rogue quite mightily. Also backed up a 60 on offing a very creepy undead mage who was being a pain in the ass.

alhandra: the branches are lovely! I get some fascinating resonances off them, so it will be interesting to work with the wood and see what comes of it. (And some of the little broken bits that were in the tube will be good for testing what I'm doing on, too.)

Performed a minor mitzvah for elfwreck.

Have done laundry. Because teinedreugan has fixed the stairs, they are no longer icky and dangerous to use, and, in fact, smell pleasantly of pine. However, the washing machine is still awful.

Ah, the prophets of the Land of the Different Kibble return, triumphant.

Tomorrow: Possibly bathroom cleaning. Possibly more sewing. Should do more homework. May read my shiny new book.

Meanwhile, it has been scientifically determined that King Tut looks a lot like King Tut, and in other news reality smells strongly of skunk.

They were all collected from a couple of trees near a school near valenthe's house. I thought the little bits might be useful in some way. Glad to hear that they will be.

Reversible altar cloth. The primary side is white, and then I can flip it for psychedelic hippy rituals, possibly involving my lava lamps. ;)

What's a mitzvah?

I'd only ever heard the word in conjunction with "bar" or "bat," and I know I'm not eligible for those.

My lack of knowledge of Jewish traditions is pretty much boundless. (Is the photo a "minor mitzvah?" Or is this something else?)

In this context, "a good deed" is how I understand it to be used. (I have heard it linked, though I'm not sure how authentic this is, with a folk belief that God's benevolence is spread all through the world in, essentially, little pockets, and that as people do good things for each other, those pockets are opened, thereby releasing more benevolence into the world in general.)

The word also means fulfillment of a commandment of the Law, in a more formal sense.
