Kiya: Why is it that the vast majority of the statues commonly available of the gods I talk to are all *tacky*?
Kiya: I could get a nice *Isis* statue if I were at all in contact with Aset, but sheesh.
Ardaniel: because "Egyptian" seems to be some variant of "Elvisian?"
    Kiya: Black Velvet Anubis paintings.
Ardaniel: Set in the sequined jumpsuit, wriggling his pelvis at crowds of fainting women.
Ardaniel: <wedge> Egyptian Gods Playing Poker

Kiya: Set would also do guitar-smashing, or perhaps setting it on fire, which is a bit late period.
Ardaniel: <wedge> or just a bunch of Anpus sitting around the table
Ardaniel: Set would've dug Jimi's taste in scarves.

Kiya: Damnit, who's the photographer who keeps taking photos of long-nosed, sad-faced dogs in human clothing?
Ardaniel: no clue. was thinking of Anne Geddes little kids dressed up as various theophanies
Kiya shakes a fist in the distant direction of Mrs. Fishman.

Kiya: It's fucking conceptual! No shit!
Kiya: Sorry. High school SAN damage occasionally surfaces.

Kiya now has a strange vision of the sons of Heru as any of a number of long-haired mid-sixties bands of four men.
    Kiya: . . . how very odd.
Ardaniel: I actually saw one of these Egypt Toob things at the high-end toy store in Santa Monica Wednesday. I don't remember them being quite as cool as pictured, but what is.
Ardaniel: (I was looking for plushie manta rays. and failing)

Kiya now has a vision of rolling 2dSokar + dSerqet or something. I'm used to dice in toobs.
    Ardaniel: *snrk*
Kiya is consumed with a profound urge to post this conversation to livejournal.
    Ardaniel: sure. :)
    Kiya: Yay!
    Ardaniel: :)

Kiya: Because some 3am conversations need to be shared with the world!

I am now consumed with a new and exciting profound urge: to commission more weird art from [livejournal.com profile] ursulav. . .

he did a marvelous film called "the Hardly Boys" starring his dogs as the Hardly Boys, because, well, first of all they are girls, and second of all, they are dogs.

i saw it at an undergound art gallery in NYC. Wegman was there. it was really nifty.
