Random thing that causes me to exclaim, "Whoa!": Blind spot detection test. (From [livejournal.com profile] thomasyan)

It probably says something significant about me that I can be trying to do some fairly intense emotional processing and have my brain suddenly snap sideways into trying to remember what the sum of the reciprocals of the Fibonacci numbers is. One might almost think that someone in here is threatened by emotionality (*pokes Darkhawk with a stick*).

Have managed to clear large lump of stress. Thus, am able to see all the damage that having a neutronium stressball sitting on me did. Now need to find the caulking supplies and spackle. . .

Need to clean up the parts of my life I was neglecting while crushed under neutronium stressball. Will start by cleaning stove.

In other news, my head hurts. If you make any noise near me at all, I will strangle you. Be warned.

*whispers* In the blind spot detection thingie, on the last screen with the red dots and the one yellow dot, what am I supposed to be seeing? I can't seem to tell whether my brain's filling in the gap with red or white, without involuntarily flicking my eyes over to the yellow dot!

When you do that one, do you still see five columns of red dots? I find when I do it my best estimate of the number of columns I'm seeing is 'possibly three'.

This is really cool; I have a book with a blind spot toy in it, but this one explores the subject more and involves no crude drawings of teddy bears. Also, this one is not packed away in a box somewhere.

I find it very hard to tell, but I think I'm seeing four columns of dots, all of which are red - in other words, I'm losing the central column entirely.

Huh. That's kind of what happens in the visual disturbances that precede a migraine. I wonder what's up with that...
