. . . there is a special little place in hell for someone who calls about cars belonging to someone else's guests, parked on that someone else's property, before the time at which such calls may be legitimately made, and has those cars stol^H^H^H^Hillegally towed.

You would not believe how murderous I'd be right now if Shane hadn't given me a bag of Utz ripple sour cream and onion. The bright sunny spot that is glorious potato chips gives me the emotional resilience to deal with this in addition to the previously mentioned tremendous, world-spanning stupid.

Hate people.

But not Shane. Shane will be spared when I finally snap and go on a rampage. Shane gives me Utz.

Is this, we shall presume, someone being nasty about Anne's having to ask them to not park where they block the snowplows?

We don't have complete information yet, but we've confirmed nobody on the block had them towed. So until the dispatcher gets back tomorrow and [livejournal.com profile] jikharra can find out WHO had the towing done (a name), it would appear we either had a roving, opportunistic tow truck...or a crank.

The sign with the tow truck number has come down. We know a lot more about towing and private ways now than we did last night. But we can, in theory, take the company to small claims court for not verifying that it was somebody on the street calling for that tow.

[livejournal.com profile] jikharra seems to think of this as an opportunity. Me, I'm just feeling depressed about humanity. (But I'm also very hungry right now.)

Dear lord. *makes useless sympathetic noises; would offer chips if any were present* That's...a whole helluva lot of stupid you've had to deal with today.

Any idea how long it takes them to get to the car-towing place?

It's more how long it took us to argue with the tow truck driver.

Basically, our -best- guess is that this was our neighbor across the street trying to be helpful about people parking in front of our wall, and that this is a failure to communicate.

This would not be so bad if the Tow Truck driver had not insisted that we pay ANYWAY, regardless of the fact that he made no effort, whatsoever, to get our attention as to the fact that he was towing people off our street in front of our yard on a private way BEFORE the 10 pm deadline.

I'm not mad at our neighbor. I am a little mad at the tow truck driver (mostly because he made [livejournal.com profile] jikharra and Shane lose thier tempers). I'm very annoyed at the universe in general, which is conspiring to make me hate living in this particular city due to the stupid parking fu that goes on around here.

[livejournal.com profile] lilairen - next time you come over, I will give you a little laminated "guest of" thing to stick in your car with [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan and we will warn the neighbors of this.

We're also going to be changing towing companies, you bet.

*sigh*
