teinedreugan is a Hero of the Revolution for bringing me copious quantities of Chinese food which soothes my soul and gives me back a spoon. I am still not really spoon-enabled, but I'm better able to fake it; today was definitely taken as a mental health day.
I need to get back to work; shall see if I can get my head back in order and do so. Should also poke at getting the work I was going to read for
rysmiel into a format where I can read it readily; I may print it out. (I haven't forgotten! I'm getting my fiction space back!)
Music . . . I'm doing complicated fiddlings in my head about music at the moment. There are probably two or three braindumps waiting to happen here. Part of this comes out of chewing on liturgical music (provoked by
lysana), part is pondering the musical portions of this weekend (and wishing I'd been able to readily snag one of
yezida's albums when I was there, but I can order it), part of it is loosely associated with
ladyofchulak's recent rant . . . music.
jenett -- you probably know my level of overall musical competence better than anyone else and have the best qualifications for answering this question. I don't know how to write music effectively; I expect I could
learn, but it's not one of the places that I have a natural gift or drive that has me starting in that direction already. Do you have any suggestions on a) how I can judge whether or not learning will be excessively effortful, b) where to start, and c) . . . uh, there was a C a moment ago, but I've lost it.
I've actually gotten reset onto a normal schedule after this weekend, which is a bit stunning, but it means that I'm not coherent enough to actually say anything, uh, coherent at this hour.

I'm not entirely sure where to suggest you start off the top of my head, but let me think about it for a couple of days, and get back to you. (Feel free to nudge me any time Saturday or later if I forget to write back.)
I do have Lots of Opinions about music, and why we've got what we've got right now (and it's partly logistical reasons). I can also wave some listening at you you might or might not find intriguing which often helps me. That part's easier to write up.
