I have accomplished much today.

Not only have I accomplished all the things I crossed off but -- but! -- I have had several pointless and annoying arguments!

I mightily need a proper kitchen scale. Probably also a kitchen stool and an entirely new body from approximately mid-back down. (Ow.)

I wonder why my brain automatically informs me when my food (such as these pierogies coated most profoundly in sour cream) violates meat/milk separation. I'm not Jewish; I've never been Jewish; I have no Jewish heritage whatsoever (unless there's something back in the depths of the Polish Catholic corner of my family tree that's lost to genealogy). (It does this sometimes with other things of that sort, like when I'm putting bacon bits on my baked potato, thereby generating pig meat & sour cream violations, but mostly I just get general, "You know, that's milchig" twinges at complete random.)

Speaking of mightiness, [livejournal.com profile] rivka at [livejournal.com profile] respect_otters debunks a story claiming horrible experimentation on HIV+ children as being put forth by AIDS deniers.

[livejournal.com profile] tnh at [livejournal.com profile] makinglight digs through some propaganda and comes out on the other side with a "grassroots organisation" backed with big corporate money.

Meanwhile (ass icon here), Scalia is at it again.

And, more lightheartedly, why Bab-5 is better than Star Trek, from [livejournal.com profile] esprix. (I do think that mostly comparing B5 and Voyager is, y'know, fish, barrel, hand grenade.)

Okay. Not going to get to the tub. Pills, shower, painkillers, bed, in that order, now.

Obviously, you were Jewish in a past life. :-)

Ole Scaly's at it again, sigh.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say.

Either that, or one of the other people in your body is Jewish, and just hasn't told you yet.
