Okay, all of a sudden I needed the appropriate rituals for entering a Catholic cathedral. (As my mostly-lapsed Catholic narrator was doing so.)

roimata found a very useful link for me to sort out exactly what the setup should be.)
What did I find?
This.
(Search the page for 'Catholic' to find the relevant section.)
Which gave me a good handle on what the relevant character would actually do, incidentally, as he's sufficiently lapsed to not do it properly, but not sufficiently to drift too far from the ritual. (So he's 'second position'.)
But what a terrifically random thing to find. I am mightily pleased with it. Life is mightily weird, and this is a glorious thing.
Much progress today: 1085 words. It's good to have my machine back, have I mentioned?
Addendum: ARGH! That seems to have superceded previous journal entry for some reason. Let me see if I can remember what was in it.
Babbling about relationships between the Gladiator soundtrack and the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack leading me to watching PotC. My need to possess the latter soundtrack. A note tojames_nicoll that earlier I typed the sentence "Tjpse are some gorgeous cats.". Probably some miscellaneous babbling about having my computer back.
