Interesting New York Times article about the current administration.

Anyone who's following the Jon Stewart on Crossfire thing really need to hear it; the transcript doesn't make it clear how real and hurt he is. He sounds like I feel about the political process at the moment. "Stop, you're hurting America." I want his book. The youaredumb_net guy has it right -- Jon matters now. The real matters, and Jon is real -- partisan, flawed, human, and needing to say something.

Acrimonious behaviour, partisanship, and playing by the rules.


And the Sox game ended just in time for me to watch the Daily Show. It's all good.

I keep hearing the exact same words said by each party about the other. Right-wingers say the left Is Destroying America. Apparently the Left is saying the same about the Right. Everyone is a malicious baby-eater, Dooming the World to Destruction and Chaos. Everyone is so divided and violently Anti-The Other Side this campaign that it's depressing.

This is why I hate politics.

What I find interesting about Jon on Crossfire is that he's not talking about the politicians hurting America -- he's talking about the portions of the media that are part of the political circus.

I never did see this infamous Jon on Crossfire thing, so I really don't know what he said (I'm just hearing peoples' reactions to it). But yeah, I agree that no matter what side they're on, the media are really, really hurting the political process this year.

See, I like Jon. I always liked Jon. I thought he was funnier when he made fun of both sides and didn't endorse one, because I'm one of those fence-sitting moderates who probably won't pick a candidate until election day, but I still like Jon because he makes sense.

The Daily Show book is really good- it is both funny and depressing. The only issue that I have with it is that they say that all US Senators are white, when 2 of them (mine from Hawaii- Akaka and Inouye) are Asian. Although I do agree with the larger point that the Senate does not represent all of America.

It's nice to see someone for once who has the balls to actually tell it like it is- very refreshing.
