I was looking through my music collection recently, and realised that I've drifted off the set of things that I think of as My Music. And this is bothering me; I need to go through and fix it and fill in the things that are on my base of conceptual structure. So I've been brainstorming things I'm missing in my collection, considering buying the CDs or getting individual songs off an MP3 dealer, making lists. (This was also provoked by the fact that my satyr on [livejournal.com profile] overlandmush was powering a magical device he built by singing the Lovin' Spoonful at it. . . .)

Then I realised I hadn't ripped "Eve of Destruction" and fixed that immediately.

The hell is wrong with me that I don't have "Ohio" ripped? I know have this CD somewhere, don't I? Rar, can't find it. Can find Beatles for Sale, which I haven't got anything off of. Minor consolation.

Did I sing "No Reply" with Bif at RM? [livejournal.com profile] memerath, do you remember? ([livejournal.com profile] io? [livejournal.com profile] larksdream? [livejournal.com profile] dirtydianadd?) It has the sort of harmonies we did . . . (Does anyone know where she is these days?) (On the subject of RM, my ceramics research has led me to the conclusion that I need to break into the art department and read bottles so I know what I'm looking for. Stupid nouns.)

The images that [livejournal.com profile] montrealais sent me arrived today; I put the statue of Aset together and put both Her and the stone with the representation of Nebet-Het into my shrine shelf. Which smells strongly of incense; I hope that the sweet smell pleases Them.

384 words today. Narrator now making lists of what he knows so he can work out systematically what he thinks he knows. Sleep still defective, though some of the reasons for that are now at least known ones. May write some more before sleep is possible. Or may try to sleep anyway. Agh.

I have two versions of "Ohio" in my iTunes library.

The other one is Devo's cover.

Yes, really.

Does anyone know where she is these days?

I think [livejournal.com profile] donperros might.

Also, did you get my email about the imminent (but not immanent) presence of a [livejournal.com profile] vectorvillain near you? We have a party Saturday night (in Nahant, actually) but perhaps Sunday there could be getting togetherness?

*g* Anything I can do to help? Some milk, perhaps? :-)

Your neck of the woods or mine?

I don't recall singing "No Reply"...we sang mostly "Help" and "I Just Saw A Face", I think. Plus lots of Billy Joel.

You know, I really wish I had the opportunity to take Art & Culture/Design again, but with a human teacher this time. It had the potential to be a great learning opportunity. Too bad.

I don't remember that particular song- but then again I can't remember a whole lot due to the lack of sleep in my life at that time. Some days I didn't even remember how I got to school.

BTW, Kathy Hess is an art teacher at RM now! She tells me some horror stories about some of the teachers though. Kathy was concerned that a student might be suicidal, so she made the mistake of telling Ms. Fishman (wasn't that her name?) anyway so Ms. F goes up to said student and says is a really loud voice, "Are you having PROBLEMS???!!!" Then Ms. Holdahl (sp?) told a student that they should "go back to their country if they didn't like it here". Poor Kathy is trying to be cool with the students but it's been hard.
