I totally agree with you, but I'm not sure that I blame it on them. I blame it on some (most really, I think) of "us" who are so damn preoccupied with that one particular issue. I have to say I am interested, b/c I have 2 live vested interests, but I am not interested to the exclusion of all else. I also want to hear about the chances of me getting a job right now.

This "song" has worked for one of the candidates, b/c it seems that its what people respond to. When I went "back east" for the first time in 2 years I was amazed by the amount of fences, people with guns, and general feeling of paranoia. "We" did it to ourselves people....

Again when I say "we", I mean the majority, or the people that respond to these scare tactics. You may not fall into that category, but if you don't, I think that you are in the minority. The minority is not who gets you elected.

Maybe I'm naive, but I think that Kerry is a thinking man, and if he gets elected I think we will see a more reasonable side of him that actually addresses domestic issues, but right now he's got to get elected. I don't really blame him for that, I think...although the jury of little gray cells is still out.

Neither one of them answers the questions really, but then when I watch the political shows on TV none of them do either- I guess it's up to the media to try to "force" the issues. So should we play fair if everyone else isn't and it seems to be working for them? I guess their moms and dads never gave them the speech of "just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't mean you have to..."

You are right though, the whole thing sucks and really depresses me about the political system.
