One of these days I'm going to track down whoever started this notion that Hathor is a lunar goddess and I am going to thump them. Solar or stellar, damnit.
Speaking of stellar Ht-Hrw, I did a concept sketch for the statue of Her that I want to do. (The Hatharu-Nut image.) I dithered about whether or not I wanted to journal the thing, but since the camera's batteries are dead and the scanner isn't set up, I won't just now. (And damnit, I've gone below critical density on pencils again, I can't find a one. Where do they go?) So need kiln. So need real clay. Doing this one in the good materials from the outset, Mary Tyler Moore hair and all.
*eyes the standings* So, uh, how about them Cardinals? Yikes. I find myself hoping that some concatenation of random chances bumps them before the NL pennant is decided, because, well. Yikes.
Found out today reading threads on the SDMB that Kerry was basically one of the major driving forces bringing Iran-Contra to the floor of Congress. I probably knew that once upon a time -- between Iran-Contra and the budget deficit, 1986 was my beginning of any semblance of political awareness -- but like all meaningless and unconnected facts it fell out of my head immediately. (Still not sure how to react to the person whose response to that sounded to me like it was out of a Paranoia writeup.)
Did not sleep well last night. Wound up rested enough, but without actual cycles of serious unconsciousness. I really need to figure out why it is I don't sleep if I think I have to be awake in the morning and bludgeon that bit of my brain into submission.
Also, for random woo, I think I lost something a few days ago when I was dreaming. Or saw something that I needed to find. Which is my weirdest reason for falling into hypersomnia yet -- usually it's depression rather than looking for that thing, that thing that was there. ...how about because she's a cow-goddess, and cows are connected to the moon via (gasp) an English nursery rhyme, and besides they make milk, which is white, and everyone knows that this means it comes from the moon?
