The massive busyness consumes me and my weekend with it.

Gaming yesterday. Up late dealing with various and miscellaneous things and talking to [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan while he was in the office (between 3 and 8 am) to make sure he didn't fall asleep. Did laundry. Thrashed about incoherently. Slept oddly. Up again to have dinner with [livejournal.com profile] jenett, whose ear I probably talked off. Met [livejournal.com profile] ninglor. Saw [livejournal.com profile] jennaria, which happens rarely, and [livejournal.com profile] autumnesquirrel, which happens less rarely. Found some bloody grape leaves in a shop in Harvard Square for the next time I have the urge to make stuffed grape leaves (rar!). More thrashing about. Pandemonium closed. Misc. Some stress levels high; cope very low. Other levels completely unstressed. Very odd. Got research help from [livejournal.com profile] humanx. Should get my act together and do some of my Overland research. Also drop notes to people am attempting to recruit onto same (guys: There are a couple of roleplay logs on [livejournal.com profile] overlandmush if you want to have a look).

And because iTunes is on a good run and I was reminded by [livejournal.com profile] annwyd doing it that I meant to do it again occasionally, fifteen sadistic song lyrics:

1. The face puts on its best disguise and all is well until the heart betrays.

2. They drank up the wine and they got to talking, they now had more important things to say.

3. We are well acquainted; we are sworn enemies.

4. Boats along the river setting up the sails and life carries on as normal although you're not around.

5. It's never been this hot and I've never been so bored and breathing is just no fun anymore.

6. Come to the grace of heaven's eternal fantasy.
(About the only line that isn't part of a couplet with the title.)

7. Someday love will find you; break those chains that bind you.

8. Within each bone the salty sea
Swims; an ocean silently
Swims; the forest of my dreams
Swims; the essence of my being.

9. I don't really care, 'cause you're going nowhere, you've got nothing but fear in your eyes.

10. God will take good care of you, just do as I say, don't do as I do.

11. Everyone wants to be on a postage stamp, but nobody wants to die.

12. Love and pain become one and the same in the eyes of a wounded child.

13. Love is so strange, how we change from day to night.

14. A dark abyss of emptiness standing on the edge of a drowning blue.

15. They say the spell that he was under, the lightning and the thunder, knew that someone had to stop the rain.

Much easier than the last random stuff iTunes threw at me. (Only one instrumental in the run, too, and no duplicates. Well, there was a duplicate artist, but that was the instrumental . . .)

Er, only one I recognize is #1, "All That I Bleed," Savatage.

8 is by the Cruxshadows. Can't remember the name, but it's track six on 'Wishfire' - Tears, maybe?

I got it too, but that's probably not surprising. Though that's not what I thought that bit said.

#7 is "Worlds Apart" by Journey

and dammit I will *not* google for the rest of them. Those are the only two I directly recognize.

Heh. I had no idea about #15 (despite a passing familiarity with the song), except being reasonably sure that it was not CCR's "Who'll stop the rain", for all that it was trying to look like a "gimmie" answer.

#4 is Erasure's "Am I Right?" and I'm stunned nobody got it.

I don't think #10 is Oingo Boingo's "Insanity" but it sure sounds like it should be, and knowing your tastes I thought I'd toss that in there just in case. *)

*laugh* Nice to know I didn't let you down! I hadn't realized anyone had noticed how much that song means to me.

You inspired me to do my own; I hope you'll try your hand.

Can't believe nobody's gotten this one yet -- #14:

But my life is more than a vision
The sweetest part is acting after making a decision

Darn, I really struck out with this batch. Only one I knew was "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)"

BTW, you inspired me to try this. :)

#3 is Heart, though I had to google for the title, "Black on Black, II"
#6 is Yuki Kajiura, "Open Your Heart". I keep getting the artist, but have to confirm the song title. Ah, well.
#12 is "Hell is For Children", Pat Benatar.

I probably have an unfair advantage at this. :>

Oh, and #10 is Genesis, the evangelist song off of We Can't Dance, though I can't remember the title and I'm not going to look this one up.
