Joined [livejournal.com profile] autumnesquirrel to go to the [livejournal.com profile] polyboston get-together at Diesel. This was plan.

Nearly missed train; overheated and faintly ill-feeling. Made plans to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan when he was done playing cards.

Spent time on train watching my brain rattle. Nominally-productive results of brain rattling: theory about the inverse relationship of plot comprehensibility and soundtrack quality in serial anime. (Developed by listening to bits of ./hack//sign soundtrack in context of watching most of an episode of Wolf's Rain the other day.) Also, beginning of a Discordian divination system based loosely on tiddlywinks. Or pogs.

Met up with [livejournal.com profile] autumnesquirrel. Encountered random person on T who she knew (loosely affiliated with [livejournal.com profile] qarylla, [livejournal.com profile] meranthi, and [livejournal.com profile] thastygliax, apparently), who she asked if he was a Mike or a . . . um? Some other name. He was a Mike. We confused him moderately and made his life surreal.

There was a person in Park Street with hair the same colour as [livejournal.com profile] elfwreck's. Still a nice colour. (Makes a happy sound?)

Went to Diesel. Was very crowded. Ran into a few people I knew, including [livejournal.com profile] nex0s, once we emerged from the corner (I had a vanilla frappe and pita and hummus. [livejournal.com profile] jikharra should try vanilla frappe and hummus. Odd.). Found people handing out "Kerry is my hamster" flyers. None of them knew [livejournal.com profile] staralshain, but she was credited on the flyers.

feeling intermittently sick. Went outside for a bit, then into bookstore next door. [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan thinks that this would be a dangerous bookstore for [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses to visit. There were a number of people in the children's books section discussing death, meaning, and sociopaths, which was moderately confusing. It had a remarkable Egyptology section -- not much, but there was more Assman, Hornung, and Meeks than Budge. Picked up a Hornung book I didn't have and a book on Roma law.

[livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan picked me up and we gave [livejournal.com profile] autumnesquirrel a lift home/most of the way to where she was going. Then home and listening to the ballgame on the radio until we got home to put it on the telly.

I am the wrong temperature.

I am being credited in flyers by people I don't know? Cool. Yet very, very strange.
(Was this for the "Kerry is my Hamster" fundraising party thing, or something different?)

Not much better. She didn't go into detail of what friends of friends they were, just that it was that sort of connection.

There was a Mike and a Dan and they lived together. They don't any more, but I still wasn't sure if it was a Mike or a Dan, though I guessed Mike.

As you know Dan since he gave you a ride home from Game Night last week...

Mike is my height and has dark hair and beard/mustache, yes?

I've been thinking about the anime soundtrack/comprehensibility thing, and in general it seems to work. However, there's always Boogiepop Phantom, where the soundtrack was, IIRC, "enh, nothing special" but the show was almost impossible.

Maybe they figure that nice music to listen to will prevent head-splodey as people watch the series?
